Stephen is an Australian Songwriter/ Lyric Writer (who also sometimes sings) interested in creating and helping to create songs in all styles of music from Country, Pop, Rock to Folk. With a background in both the Visual Arts and Architecture Stephen has an interest in understanding the structure and overall composition of songs, efficient lyric choices and constantly trying to better understand the patterns, principles and process of the songwriting craft.

Extended Bio (180 words):

Since recently directing his focus toward music, Canberra-based Creative Stephen Dobson has quickly established himself as a capable co-writer and creative independent songwriter and lyricist. With a background in the visual arts and architecture, Stephen is interested in the intersection between intuition, authenticity, and honesty, and the process, practice, and patterns where songwriting seems to sit so well.

With an eclectic and open-minded musical taste and experimental approach, Stephen is actively exploring genres and styles and enjoys the challenge of new approaches and exploring varying song forms and sounds. One of Stephen's biggest enjoyments over the last few years has come from hearing his songwriting and lyric ideas re-interpreted and re-imagined through the hands and voices of other artists, as well as the journey of introspection and discovery that is the process of finding one's own voice.

Since songwriting, Stephen has written songs with acclaimed golden guitarists, talented local and international artists, and numerous up-and-coming musicians and enjoyed every minute of it. He is constantly seeking out new connections and collaborators to share in the wonderful craft that is songwriting.
